Walter Möbius (2019)

Walter Möbius (* 1937 in Bonn ) is a German doctor, university professor and book author. He became known as the personal physician of celebrities such as Helmut Kohl .

Life

Walter Möbius studied medicine for interistics and neurology in Bonn. From 1978 to 2002 Möbius was chief physician in the internal department at the Bonn Johanniter Hospital, which was a kind of "government hospital" during the Bonn Republic . He dealt with diplomats and politicians, including former chancellor Helmut Kohl, whom he accompanied on numerous government trips during his years as chancellor and with whom he was friends.

After his retirement, Möbius worked primarily for young patients in the facilities of the Salesians Don Bosco in developing countries, whom he supports as a doctor and photographer.

He is on the scientific advisory board of the organization “Singing Hospitals” under the patronage of Gerlinde Kretschmann. As a passionate photographer and mountaineer, Möbius has traveled to most countries in the world.

Medical principles

Möbius is known as a "patient whisperer". He advocates more conscious doctor-patient contact based on listening, looking, and trust. The focus of medicine should be placed more on the patient discussion and the patient's environment.

Walter Möbius is often interviewed and is a guest on TV programs such as "Live after nine", "Tele-Akademie", "Im Zeit-Raum".
