In 1942 Müller moved from FC Birsfelden to FC Basel . His transfer fee (CHF 2500.00) was enormous for the circumstances at the time. Müller guarded the Basel gate for 14 years. His greatest career success was the championship title in 1953. In addition, Müller reached the Cup final twice (victory in 1947, defeat in 1943).
