Walter Percy Chrysler, Jr. (born May 27, 1909 in Oelwein , Iowa , † September 1988 in Norfolk , Virginia ) was an American entrepreneur and art collector .

Life

His father Walter Percy Chrysler was the company founder of the US company Chrysler . He grew up on Long Island and studied at Dartmouth University . In the course of his life, Chrysler acquired various works of art, including from important European painters, as well as an important collection of glass objects.

Walter Percy Chrysler, Jr. was married to Jean Outland Chrysler, who was a native of Norfolk. In 1971 the childless couple transferred their art collection to the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk.
