Walter Pieringer

Walter Pieringer (born October 1, 1942 in Graz ) is an Austrian psychiatrist and psychoanalyst .

He was the head of the University Clinic for Psychotherapy at the Medical University Clinic Graz . Walter Pieringer is a group and training analyst as well as a psychodrama leader. He had u. a. Raphael M. Bonelli 1996 to 2005 as a well-known student and teaching analyst . In 2007 he founded the RPP Institute together with Bonelli . He has long been concerned with the border area between religiosity and psychotherapy. His lecture Religious Fanaticism as Psychodynamics at the symposium The Unease with Religion on June 18, 2011 at the Islamic Center in Vienna was well received .
