Walter Radl

Walter Radl (born May 10, 1940 in Aussig ; † July 6, 2012 ) was a German New Testament scholar .

life and work

After obtaining his doctorate in 1974 and his habilitation in 1980 at the University of Bochum , Walter Radl became professor for New Testament exegesis at the University of Augsburg in 1984 . Stefan Schreiber was one of his employees at the University of Augsburg . One of his main research interests was the Gospel of Luke .

Between 2003 and 2007 he chaired the Working Group of Catholic New Testament Scholars.

Private

Radl had been married to Gertrud Fühles since 1968. The three children Eckart, Albert and Hildegard emerged from the marriage. His son Albert, who works as a film director, gained particular fame.
