Walter Mathers Rutherford (born September 23, 1857 in Crailing , † October 15, 1913 in London ) was a Scottish golfer .
biography
Walter Rutherford was a member of the Jedburgh Golf Club . At the Olympic Games in Paris in 1900 he won the individual silver medal.
Rutherford attended Madras College at St Andrews and farmed land in Jedburgh . Later he is said to have either had financial problems or was an alcoholic. He left Scotland and eventually died in London .
