Walter Schellhorn

Walter Schellhorn (born June 15, 1927 in Stuttgart ; † October 3, 2019 ) was managing director of the German Association for Public and Private Welfare and author of legal specialist commentaries.

Career

Schellhorn was born in Stuttgart in 1927. After the Second World War, he was held in an internment camp by the French occupying forces until 1948. After his release, Schellhorn attended the higher administrative school in Stuttgart and then from 1953 became a social officer at the German District Association . In 1961 Schellhorn was elected to the main committee of the German Association and then joined the management of the German Association in 1963. From 1963 on, Schellhorn was deputy, then from 1968 first managing director of the German Association. In 1989 he retired, but remained an honorary member of the German Association.

Schellhorn wrote legal commentaries on social law. His comment on the Federal Social Welfare Act , which is continued today as a comment on SGB ​​XII , and his comment on the Child and Youth Welfare Act , which is also continued as a comment on SGB ​​VIII, was particularly well known .

Schellhorn died on October 3, 2019 at the age of 92.
