Walter Sonnleitner

Walter Sonnleitner (born January 5, 1947 in Sinnersdorf in Styria) is an Austrian business journalist and was a non-partisan top candidate for the BZÖ in the 2010 election campaign in Vienna .

Life

After graduating from commercial academy with a high school diploma , Walter Sonnleitner studied at the Vienna University for World Trade to obtain a degree in business administration and a doctorate in commercial science . In 1965 Sonnleitner became a member of the Catholic student association K.Ö.HV Rugia Wien in the ÖCV , and he is also a member of the Catholic secondary school associations K.Ö.St.V. Asciburgia Oberschützen and K.Ö.St.V. Mercuria Oberwart, both in the MKV . Even during his studies, Sonnleitner worked in administration at ORF .

In 1971 he switched to the business department as an editor. He designed the series Made in Austria with Günter Tolar and Guest in Austria . Sonnleitner was also significantly involved in the business magazine Schilling , which was renamed to € co as a result of the introduction of the euro . As a result, he was responsible for the economic commentary in numerous information programs on ORF.

Sonnleitner retired in January 2009. Until July 2010 he was president of the "Mittelstandsvereinigung Österreich" founded on April 6, 2010, which, according to his own statements , is supposed to represent the interests of medium- sized companies.

On June 29, 2010, the BZÖ presented Sonnleitner as the top candidate for the state elections 2010 in Vienna . Despite the candidacy, Sonnleitner remained party-free. The BZÖ failed on election day with a result of 1.33 percent, however, quite clearly due to the entry into the Vienna state parliament or municipal council.
