Walter Strauss (doctor)

Walter Strauss (born January 11, 1895 in Berlin ; † after 1945) was a German-Jewish doctor and, after his emigration, professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem .

family

Walter Strauss was the son of the businessman Moritz Strauss (1860-1946) and his wife Elisabeth Strauss, née Ferber (1873-1940). His brother was the later writer Georg Strauss .

Professional background

Walter Strauss was a private lecturer from 1926 and from 1931 to September 8, 1933 Associate Professor of Bacteriology and Hygiene at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin. Before that he had been employed there as an assistant from 1925/1926.
