Walter Tancsits

Walter Tancsits (born October 10, 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and a former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Tancsits attended elementary school from 1958 to 1962 and secondary school between 1962 and 1966. Tancsits moved to the higher technical college for mechanical engineering in 1966 and graduated from high school in 1971. He did military service from 1971 to 1972 and from 1982 studied political science and journalism at the University of Vienna . Tancsits graduated in 1985 with the degree Mag. Phil. from.

Tancsits was a private technical employee between 1972 and 1975 and was a temporary officer in the Austrian Armed Forces between 1975 and 1985. Tancsits then worked as a market and opinion researcher until 1992 and was managing director of the Institute for Youth Research between 1988 and 1992. Tancsits was employed by the ÖAAB in the federal management from 1993 to 2003 and has been a board member of STUWO AG in Vienna since 2004.

politics

Tancsits has been district party chairman of the ÖVP Vienna-Währing since 2004. He is also a member of the District Party Presidium and a member of the District Party Executive. Between 1994 and 2004 he was a member of the Chamber of Labor in Vienna and represented the ÖVP in the National Council from October 29, 1999 to October 29, 2006. In the 2008 National Council election, he was runner-up in the Vienna North-West regional constituency.

Private

Tancsits is married and has two children. He is an honorary member of the Catholic student association K.Ö.HV Franco Bavaria Vienna in the ÖCV .
