Walter Westrupp

Walter Westrupp (born February 12, 1946 in Krumbach , Bavaria ) is a musician who was best known as part of the Witthüser & Westrupp duo .

Artistic creation

The trained concrete worker and computer graphic artist played together with Bernd Witthüser in the folk and krautrock duo Witthüser & Westrupp from 1968 to 1973 . There he mainly used the ukulele but also around 30 other instruments. He was involved as a studio musician in productions by Hölderlin , Jerry Berkers and the tarot project by Walter Wegmüller . In 1973 he was involved in the electronic improvisation project Lord Krishna von Goloka by the Swiss author and publicist Sergius Golowin , in which Klaus Schulze , Bernd Witthüser and Jürgen Dollase also participated. From 1974 to 2011 he was the front man of the Essen skiffle and comedy troupe "Walter hc Meier Pump", which then broke up. From 1975 to 1977 he appeared together with Frank Baier as the duo "BaierWestrupP" with socially critical songs.

Until the end of 2012, Westrupp worked with Frank Baier and Heri Horstig as the “basic staff” for the Masters of Ukulele. From 2007 to 2012 he devoted himself to the acoustic duo Walter Westrupp Dabbelju Jugband together with Heribert Horstig. The current project is the One Man Skiffle Band.
