Walter Zandanell

Walter Zandanell (born September 28, 1958 in Salzburg ) was General Director of Volksbank Salzburg and from 2003 to 2009 Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Volksbanken-Aktiengesellschaft (ÖVAG).

Life

Zandanell has a doctorate in law and joined Volksbank Salzburg in 1982. In 1984 he joined the foreign department there and took over its management in 1986. In 1992 he became head of a directorate with the departments IT, Organization, Real Estate, Domestic Payments, Abroad and Securities. In 1996 he became a member of the board and managing director and from 1999 until his retirement in 2018 he was general director and chairman of the board of Volksbank Salzburg.

At the end of 2003, Zandanell succeeded Franz Pinkl as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ÖVAG, who at that time moved to the board of directors of the top Volksbank. During this time, Zandanell performed numerous important functions in the Volksbank network . He was u. a. Vice President of the Austrian Cooperative Association (ÖGV) and member of the supervisory board of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich (RZB).

Walter Zandanell has been appointed court expert for banking and credit since 2018.

Walter Zandanell is married and has four children.
