Wanda Victorine von Bogdani , actually Wanda von Kleczkowska , married Wanda van der Meere ( March 23, 1851 in Lemberg - 1888 ) was a Polish opera singer ( soprano ) and singing teacher .

Life

Bogdani, the daughter of an old noble Polish family, was discovered at an early age, and when she first successfully appeared in a charity concert in 1866, she resolved to devote herself to the stage. Mother and daughter moved to Vienna, where the latter continued her lessons with Anna Maria Wilhelmine van Hasselt-Barth . In 1877 the prima donna of the Munich court opera was to be replaced. The general manager went to Vienna, heard the young singer here and immediately engaged her.

Bogdani made his debut as “Raisin” in Barbier von Sevilla in Munich, but only stayed a year and after the season was over, he was offered a call to the Frankfurt City Theater .

Then she went to Milan to receive further training from Francesco Lamperti . There she also received an engagement.

Since she could not stand the exertion, she took a longer break and left Italy again to appear strengthened at the Hofoper Berlin. However, she did not take on a permanent position, but toured almost all of Germany's major cities.

Then she went to the Opera in Paris. From there she was won for the Komische Oper in Vienna in 1874. A long process because of outstanding fees was so hard on her physically and financially that she again needed a longer break. After the trial was over, she first appeared at the Volkstheater Walhalla in Berlin. Further guest performances followed.

She was married to Count Charles van der Meere .
