The Wandammen Peninsula is located on the north coast in the far west of New Guinea , southeast of the Vogelkop Peninsula . It is located on the south bank of the Cenderawasih Bay and belongs to the Indonesian province of West Papua ( Papua Barat ).

The Wondiwoiberge (also Wandammenberge ) form the backbone of the peninsula with a height of up to 2252  m . The mountains are steep on the east side, while they are lower and less steep on the west side. Most of the few villages are also on the west side. The most important settlements from north to south are Sobiei , Wasior , Miei , Rasiei and Tandia . Most of the mountain slopes are forested. There is a boat service to Wasior from Manokwari and Ransiki .

The local nature reserve is characterized by a high level of biodiversity . Among other things, it is used by the cottage gardener .
