Chien-Ming Wang ( Chinese  王建民 , Pinyin Wáng Jiànmín , W.-G. Wáng Chien-min ; born March 31, 1980 in Tainan , Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan) ) is a Taiwanese baseball player.

The pitcher Wang played from 2005 to 2009 in the North American Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees , since 2010 for the Washington Nationals , and then the Toronto Blue Jays . He is also a national player for the Taiwanese national baseball team. Wang is one of the top four Taiwanese baseball players in the MLB - alongside Los Angeles Dodgers players Hong-Chih Kuo , Chin-hui Tsao, and Chin-Feng Chen .

Services

From 2006 to 2007 he managed to achieve 19 wins for the New York Yankees annually . One of his strengths is his sinker , which moves forward in a curvy movement to the right and down after the pitch.

In 2016, Wang began playing for the Kansas City Royals as a relief pitcher (instead of starting pitcher beforehand) due to his stability, experience, and increasing pitch speed.

Awards

In 2007, the US weekly Time magazine named Wang one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World . With the good performances and win records, he became a candidate for the Cy Young Award for Starting Pitchers.
