Wanting Qu

Wanting Qu ( Chinese  曲 婉婷 , Pinyin Qū Wǎntíng ; born October 10, 1983 in Harbin ) is a Chinese singer-songwriter and actress who lives in Canada .

life and career

Wanting Qu was born on October 10, 1983 in Harbin, the first and only child of Qu Heng and Qu Zhang Mingjie. At the age of 16, she moved to Toronto to study at Seneca College and start making music. She currently lives in Vancouver .

In 2009 she signed a recording deal with Nettwerk Records, after which Terry McBride became her manager. Three years later she released her first album called Everything In The World , which was produced by Winston Hauschild and published by Nettwerk together with Universal Music China. The singer received six platinum records in China for the album . The songs You Exist in My Song and Drenched were used as background music in the Chinese film Love in the Buff . In 2013, the song Star in You was also used as background music in the US television series Degrassi: The Next Generation . The single When It's Lonely appears in the Chinese version of the American film The Hunger Games - Catching Fire .
