history

The coat of arms was designed by the Munich heraldist Emil Werz .

The Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior approved the use of the coat of arms by the municipality by resolution of May 25, 1950.

Foundation of the coat of arms

The place Dieng, today Oberding, appears as villa deoinga for the first time in the documents on July 3, 750 as the place of issue of a deed of gift from Duke Tassilos III. on. At that time, free farmers and the duke left property on the Isar to Bishop Joseph von Freising. Since the former manorial conditions did not provide any suitable points of contact for a municipal coat of arms, a symbol from the peasant terminology was used as the basis. This choice justifies the establishment of the settlement by Deo, who gave the place its name, the permanent peasant character of the settlement, and finally the fact that the town's coat of arms of neighboring Erding also shows a peasant symbol. In any case, a settlement history connection between the places Ding and Erding can be assumed from the beginning .

The colors of the simple coat of arms - the tinging - are intended to indicate that the settlement of Ding was a ducal property in the 8th century and that it belonged to the country. The affixing of the year 750 above the upper edge of the shield in the municipal official seal is due to the extraordinarily high, documented age of the place.
