War of the Worlds - Goliath is a Malaysian military science fiction - animated film of 2012. It is loosely based on the book The War of the Worlds by HG Wells .
action
Around 1899, the first militarized Martians attacked the earth. Much of humanity is being killed and cities ravaged. Since the aliens cannot cope with the terrestrial bacteria, they have to withdraw. 15 years later, there is another invasion with improved combat robots. In North America, an international alliance is forming to counterattack. These too have constructed new, three-legged combat robots. The first attack occurs during an exercise. The people suffer heavy losses, after which an aerial battle against Martian aircraft is fought. A team manages to free Martian prisoners from a factory building.
In New York City, an airship and its fighter planes can repel the invasion. When a huge spaceship emerges from the sea, it is brought down by the airship's amok flight against the beam of destruction.
criticism
"The large-scale images in which this turmoil of battle was animated as a 2D or 3D version in the style of a cartoon series from the 1980s, reflect the dramaturgical loss rather than compensate for it."
