Warden Ledge
Warden Ledge is a rocky reef on the northwest coast of the Isle of Wight in southern England , immediately south across from Hurst Castle .
It consists of calcareous sandstone and sand and extends from Warden Point on the island in a north-northwest direction about 800 m into the Solent and separates Colwell Bay in the north from Totland Bay in the south. The reef gradually descends from land and dries up to about half of its total length at low tide . At its extreme end, the water depth is only two meters, while nine and ten meters are measured immediately next to it.
