The Waring Rocks are two prominent cliffs off the western end of South Georgia . They are 1 km southwest of Cape Parjadin .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped them in 1963. They named them after the sailor Thomas John Waring (* 1932) of the Royal Navy , who was involved in surveys of this area on board the HMS Owen in 1961 .
