As water intake tower is referred to in Civil Engineering , a tower building that within the storage space of a dam or other water retaining structure is and the withdrawal of water , usually water is used.

The purpose of such a structure is to be able to take water from different water depths in a controlled manner through several inlets placed one above the other, in order to achieve a desired quality level by means of suitable mixing.
