The Marienberg hydropower plant is a small hydropower plant owned and operated by the city of Burghausen in the paper mill district . It was rebuilt in 1897/98 to replace a smaller previous building from 1892 and initially served as the exclusive power supply for the city of Burghausen. It is still in operation today and feeds electrical energy with an output of around 35 kW into the grid. The power plant is listed as a monument.

The first hydropower plant was built in 1892, and the technical equipment in the existing successor building with an official apartment from 1897/98 was renewed in 1911 and 1925/26. The part of the plant that has been active since then consists of two turbines fed by different streams that work on a shaft, a control device driven by a flat belt and a generator. The regulating device ensures via the blade position of the turbines that both turbines work at the same speed and that the overall system always delivers the maximum possible power.
