Water master

Water masters work in waterworks or at water supply companies (WVU). They manage water extraction, water treatment and water storage. Mainly a water master ensures a consistently high quality of the drinking water according to the drinking water ordinance and for the supply of the population with drinking water in sufficient quantity.

The water master works closely with the health department, the lower water authority , the community and the fire department .

The tasks of the water master essentially concern the following areas:

  • Operation and monitoring of the systems, taking into account the quality and safety requirements
  • Planning and monitoring the use of resources
  • Recognizing and assessing malfunctions and initiating suitable countermeasures
  • Supervision of the maintenance of the plant and equipment
  • Organizational and personnel management tasks
