The moated castle Hofweier , also called Obere Burg , is an abandoned moated castle in Gewann Ried (Riedstrasse) near Hofweier, a current district of the municipality of Hohberg in the Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was built in 1438 by the knight Burkart Hummel von Staufenberg and was later owned by the von Bach knights . The castle fell into disrepair in the 17th century and was demolished in the 18th century. Nothing has been preserved from the castle complex, which can no longer be located.
