The water tower Rheindahlen is in the district Rheindahlen in Mönchengladbach ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ), Mennrather road 80th

The building was built in 1913. It was entered under no. M 020 on October 14, 1986 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The water tower is located southeast of the old town center of Rheindahlen on Mennrather Straße on a fairly flat surrounding area, largely determined by field management.

architecture

The round water tower built in 1913 is 41.6 m high and made entirely of brick . It consists of a substructure, shaft and head piece. The water reservoir holds a little more than 150 m³.

The elegant, restrained, ornate water tower is a successful example of civil engineering . In view of its artistic execution and the generally rare tower structures, this technical monument is worth protecting for architectural and industrial archeological reasons.
