Vasily Ivanovich Shukhayev (* 1887 in Moscow , † 1973 in Tbilisi ) was a Soviet painter.

Life

Shukhayev studied painting in Moscow and Saint Petersburg before spending two years in Italy. Then he taught a. a. in Petersburg and Tbilisi . In 1920 he emigrated to Finland and then to France for 14 years. He returned to the USSR in the 1930s. He was exiled to the Kolyma region during the Great Terror . From 1947 he lived in Georgia.
