Wassili Wiktorowitsch Demtschenko ( Russian Василий Викторович Демченко ; English transcription: Vasily Demchenko ; born March 16, 1994 in Chelyabinsk ) is a Russian ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Canadiens de Montréal since April 2020 and in the National Hockey League who have favourited Rocket de Laval , is used in the American Hockey League .

Career

Wassili Demtschenko comes from the Belyje Medwedi youth team in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja League . During the 2013/14 season he made his debut in the KHL for the HK tractor Chelyabinsk . Between 2013 and 2015 he was also regularly used in the second division, the Wysschaja Hockey League , at HK Tschelmet Tscheljabinsk .

From 2015 he was the regular goalkeeper of Traktor and was named KHL goalkeeper of the month in November 2016. In the first half of the 2019/20 season, he played 22 games for Traktor, only 7 of which were won. Therefore, he was put on the waiver list at the end of November 2019 and signed by HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk at the beginning of December 2019.

In April 2020 Demchenko signed a one-year contract with the Canadiens de Montréal from the National Hockey League .
