Watansoppeng is a city (Kota) in South Sulawesi , Indonesia and is the capital of the administrative district ( Kabupaten ) Soppeng . The city is also known as Kota Kalong , the city of bats. Around 12,500 black fruit bats hang on trees in the city. Hot springs are located in Lejja, 20 km north of the city. The city is located on a tributary of the Walanae .
