Georg Eugen Albrecht

Georg Eugen Albrecht , in the United States and George Eugene Albrecht (* 12. August 1855 in Wehlau , Prussia ; † 24. October 1906 in Minneapolis ) was a German Protestant - Reformed pastor , high school teacher and missionary .

Life

Georg Eugen Albrecht studied education in Berlin , Breslau and Ulm . After graduating in 1874, he went to the United States and studied at Oberlin College , where he graduated in 1882. After several years as a pastor in Iowa and a teacher at Chicago Theological Seminary , Albrecht was called to Japan in 1887 as a missionary for the American Board Mission .

At his first station in Niigata , in addition to his missionary work, he also taught English. In 1889 Albrecht received a professorship at the theological faculty of Dōshisha University in Kyoto . After moving to Maebashi for two years , he returned to Kyoto in 1900. At the same time he was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD.

At the beginning of 1904 Albrecht traveled back to the USA and worked as a pastor in Minneapolis until his death.
