Water edge
Waterkant [ ˈvɔːtɐkʰant ], HH : [ ˈvoːdɐkʰant ], ndl. [ ˈƲaːtərkɑnt ] is a Low German name for coast . In Low German as well as in Dutch, the word does not exactly mean "water edge", but rather "water edge" or "sea edge area". Colloquially, it means above all the coasts of Northern Germany and the Netherlands , or an unspecified strip of land along these coasts. The Belgian coast is also often called the Waterkant .
