Waterside is a small town in the East Dunbartonshire region of Scotland . It is located on the south-eastern outskirts of Kirkintilloch about 11 km northeast of Glasgow on the Luggie Water River .
Between 1795 and around 1860, Waterside was the location of the nationally important whiskey distillery Duntiblae , which was located in the Lowlands whiskey region and produced malt whiskey .
