East Dunbartonshire is a constituency for the British House of Commons . It was created in 1950 and initially existed until the 1979 general election. After being disbanded before the 1983 elections, it was reintroduced in 2005. East Dunbartonshire is one of two constituencies in the East Dunbartonshire Council Area . Unlike the neighboring constituency of Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East , which is essentially in North Lanarkshire , East Dunbartonshire extends exclusively over the council area of ​​the same name. The constituency sends a representative.
