Glasgow Central is a constituency for the British House of Commons . It was formed in 1885 and initially existed until 1997 when it was dissolved in the course of the constituency reform before the general election. Before the general election in 2005, ten constituencies covered the Council Area Glasgow , but also extended beyond the borders of Glasgow. In 2005 the constituency structure was revised and Glasgow was subdivided into eight constituencies, which, however, now lie exclusively within the boundaries of the Council Area and completely cover them. In this context, Glasgow Central was reintroduced. The constituency includes the inner-city areas. The constituency sends a representative.
