The 1924 British General Election was held on Wednesday October 29, 1924. The election was the result of a loss of confidence in the Labor Party's minority government led by Ramsay MacDonald on October 8th. This led to the dissolution of parliament and the third election within two years.

The Conservatives, led by Stanley Baldwin , made huge gains compared to the 1923 election and became by far the strongest force. Labor, led again by Ramsay MacDonald , lost 40 seats. The Liberals , led by Herbert Henry Asquith , lost 118 of their 158 seats.
