Constituency results

The British general election in 1945 took place on July 5th.

It was the first general election since 1935 as it was suspended during World War II .

The results were not expected in this way, as Winston Churchill led the British through the war and achieved heroic status in large sections of society. However, Labor was given greater authority in terms of rebuilding the country after the war.

The Labor Party, with its top candidate Clement Attlee, clearly won with a lead of 145 seats.
