The eighth edition of the COSAFA-Cup , officially COSAFA Castle Cup 2004 , took place from June 13th to November 20th, 2004 . Eight teams from South Africa played for the title of South African champion. Angola won its third title. The preliminary round took place from January 10th to May 9th.
Game mode
The top four of the last tournament were automatically qualified for the final round of the tournament . The remaining eight participants played in the first round, the four winners of which qualified for the finals. The tournament was continued in the knockout system.
