The seventh edition of the COSAFA-Cup , officially the COSAFA Castle Cup 2003 , took place from May 25th to September 27th, 2003 . Eight teams from South Africa played for the title of South African champion. Zimbabwe won its second title. The preliminary round took place from February 22nd to April 20th.

Game mode

The top four of the last tournament were automatically qualified for the final round of the tournament . The remaining eight participants played in the first round, the four winners of which qualified for the finals. The tournament was continued in the knockout system.

The first round took place from February 22nd to April 20th, 2003. Madagascar, Botswana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe qualified for the finals.
