The COSAFA Cup in 2018 , the soccer championship of Southern Africa , took place from May 27 to June 9, 2018, as last year, in South Africa instead. The host was the municipality of Polokwane in Limpopo Province . Botswana resigned as the host nation in January 2018 due to financial problems.
The tournament was organized by the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA). South Africa hosted the regional championship for the sixth time.
Participant and mode
All 14 full members of COSAFA were eligible to play. The six best nations according to the FIFA rankings were seeded for the quarter-finals. The other eight nations played the remaining quarter-finalists in two groups.
