The 2018 COSAFA Women's Championship , the southern African women's soccer championship , is scheduled to take place in Port Elizabeth ( Nelson Mandela Bay ) in South Africa from September 12-22, 2018 . The tournament is organized by the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA). For the first time in the tournament, the rule applies that the coaches of the women's national football team must also be women. It won the South African selection for the fifth time overall.
Participant and mode
12 teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament. These play in the group stage in three groups of four teams each. The group first and the best second in the group qualify for the semi-finals. The draw was scheduled to take place on August 16, 2018, but has been postponed to August 29, 2018. Uganda and Cameroon were invited as guest nations.
