Wayd is a Slovak technical death metal band. The music genre is very experimental and can hardly be narrowed down, but is referred to as Death Metal by the band itself . The influences range from funk to jazz. The compositions include parts from fast Thrash Metal to pieces that were otherwise only known from bands like Death . The band name is an acronym for " W hat a re y ou d oing"

Band history

Wayd formed in 1994 from the thrash metal band Marion and the death metal band Dysentery. The basic idea was to break the boundaries between the different genres of music and thus create different atmospheres so that everyone would find something for themselves in the music. In 1995 the first demo "Shape of Your Mind" was recorded in the AD Micro Studio in Prešov . Two years later, "The Ultimate Passion" was recorded and produced by Metal Age . In 2001 the album "Barriers" was released, which was mainly characterized by a lot of death metal parts. Partly saxophone sounds can also be heard on the album. The third CD ("Decadance") came out in the summer of 2002. On this album you can also hear saxophones and trumpets , which is very unusual in Death Metal .

During the whole time Wayd gave concerts in Slovakia and Poland .
