We Are the People is a song by the Australian music project Empire of the Sun , which was released as the second single from the debut album Walking on a Dream on September 20, 2008 in Australia.
On February 21, 2009 the single We Are the People was released in Germany. However, the song only reached number 65 in Germany. The song only reached fame in Germany in 2010 through its use in Vodafone commercials and was thus able to place itself at the top of the German single charts for the first time .
Music video
The music video was shot in Mexico , directed by Josh Logue , and was generally inspired by the old Mexican festival Día de los Muertos . Filming locations included Sir Edward James Gardens in Las Pozas, Monterrey and García .
