WebFish
The WebFish is an award from the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) , which has been awarded once a year by a jury for the best Christian website since 1996. It is supported jointly by the EKD and the joint venture of Protestant journalism . The WebFish has not been awarded since 2014, it is in "a [r] regenerative break".
Award
The WebFish was awarded in gold, silver and bronze. These first three places are linked to cash prizes (1500 euros, 1000 euros, 500 euros). The WebFish "Innovation" was awarded for an Internet offer that did not meet all of the formulated criteria, but that achieved a groundbreaking and excellent "innovation". The WebFish "Innovation" and the WebFish "Sponsorship Award" were not awarded automatically every year. Most recently, the jury's vote also included the results of an internet survey, where ten nominees could be chosen.

reception
The WebFish was consistently perceived positively as recognition of the often voluntary work on internet projects inside and outside the Evangelical Church. The nominated and award-winning projects perceived the award as a clear enhancement of their work, especially in its early days. In recent years it has been criticized that lay projects had to be measured by the same standards as highly endowed, professional projects.
