Weber at the brook

Weber am Bach is a listed building in Memmingen, Upper Swabia . The corner house is on Furtgasse and Untere Bachgasse with the address Untere Bachgasse 2 . The city's Latin school was housed in the house until 1572, after which it served as the imperial city alms box until 1808 . when the house was sold. The first wine bar was set up on the premises in 1848. In 1901 the house was sold to Gottfried Weber, from whom the house takes its name.

The heavily renovated house with nine to five axes has a gable roof . On the gable front facing Furtgasse there is a wall painting marked 1631 with the Memmingen city coat of arms. Another painting next to it shows a schoolmaster with his students. On the western corner of the house is a group of three negroes . The first floor protrudes from the gable front and is supported by a visible, dark-painted wooden structure. In the gable there is an inscription with a rising sun, which reminds of the renovations of the house with the dates 1947 and 1977.
