The Weddell Arm is the southernmost and westernmost branch of the Langnes Fjord in the Vestfold Mountains on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land .
Norwegian cartographers mapped it using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936/37 . In 1955 and 1957 teams visited him as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . It is named after the large number of Weddell seals that populate the banks of the fjord .
