Wednesday Iceland (literally translated from English Wednesday Island ) is a 1.5 km long island in the Wilhelm Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located at the eastern end of the Wauwermans Islands in the northern part of the archipelago.

The German polar explorer Eduard Dallmann discovered the Wauwermans-Insln in 1874, which later became part of the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery and the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903–1905) led by Jean- Baptiste Charcots have been roughly mapped. Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937), led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill , specifically mapped the island described here and named it so because they sighted it on a Wednesday.
