The Weerthschule is a primary school in Detmold in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia and was founded in 1912 as a "boys' school".
History of the Weerth School
The school building was built in 1910 by a school association as a "boys' school". The association was represented by the school board A. Buße. The construction plans and construction management were probably with the architect D. Langewort.
The school grounds are a ground monument. Part of the cemetery in front of the Lemgoer Tor was located there from 1625 to the middle of the 18th century. The remains of the early modern cemetery are preserved in the ground. The school is named after the school reformer Ferdinand Weerth from Lippe . The school building has been a listed building since 1998 .
School program
Since the 2014/2015 school year, the Weerthschule has been part of the “Bildungshaus Weerthschule”, to which the Hakedahl elementary school and the Weerthschule elementary school were merged with the Hofkamp day-care center.
The Weerthschule implements the inclusion of children with disabilities in all classes. The Bildungshaus Weerthschule offers both the bound all-day school and the open all-day school in some classes .
In May 2014, the Weerthschule was the first nature park school to be certified by the Association of German Nature Parks .
