Ferdinand Weerth , Ferdinand aus'm Weerth called (* 1. June 1774 Gemarke ( Barmen , now Wuppertal); † 18th October 1836 in Detmold ) was a German Reformed theologian and school reformers in lip .

Live and act

After studying theology, Weerth was pastor in Kettwig from 1796 to 1805 . Weerth was appointed by Princess Pauline (Lippe) on December 16, 1805 in Detmold to the office of general superintendent of the Lippe regional church and remained so until his death in 1836. Weerth was married and had five children. One of his sons was the writer Georg Weerth , another the theologian Carl Weerth .

Ferdinand-Weerth-Strasse in Kettwig and Weerthschule and Weerth-Platz in Detmold were named after Ferdinand Weerth . A monument in the form of an obelisk was also placed on the square .
