Signpost near Kochstedt

The signpost near Kochstedt is a small monument in the independent city of Dessau-Roßlau in Saxony-Anhalt .

Signpost stones are often not part of the distance stones because they do not always show distances, but only directions. Such a stone is located northeast of Kochstedt . It has directional arrows on two sides and above these are the respective place names of the neighboring places.

It was designed so that the south side with the arrow to the right to Dessau with the arrow to the left to Kochstädt or the east side with the arrow to the left to Hohestrasse and with the arrow to the right to Mosigkau . These details agree with the current situation, as the stone is still standing at this crossroads.

The older spelling of Kochstedt assigns the stone to the 19th century. When exactly it was built has not yet been determined. The road from Dessau to Quellendorf (today Kochstedter Kreisstraße ) was built between 1828 and 1831. The signpost is now a listed building and is entered in the monument register with registration number 094 41072.
