Fortified churches in Belarus, Poland and Lithuania

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The fortified churches in Belarus, Poland and Lithuania is a proposal by Belarus for a serial, i.e. H. World Heritage Site comprising several individual components . The proposal has been on UNESCO's tentative list since January 2004 with the number 1899 . A transnational world heritage site with fortified churches from three countries is planned. So far, however, only a selection of three fortified churches in Belarus has been included. Structures from Poland and Lithuania are not yet listed in the candidacy.
