The Weiherhof is located in the Morzg district of Salzburg (Biberngasse 31). The prince-archbishop's Weiherhof, on the other hand, is located in the Parsch district at Fürbergstrasse 40, where the pond that gives it its name has long since disappeared. In Anif, next to the city of Salzburg, the farm building of Schloss Anif on Salzachtalstrasse is also called Weiherhof.

The Schlössl "at the lower pond" of the Salzburg cathedral chapter was built around 1530. (The "Schlössl am upper pond" was the name for today's moated castle Anif.) This "Schlössl ob der Gmain" came to the Salzburg cathedral chapter around 1600 from the Chiemsee bishops in exchange with the hunting castle Guggenthal . The eponymous pond, once located directly on the edge of the cemetery terrace south of the old building, was gradually filled in in the first decades of the 20th century. The old castle also had a Meierhof ("Weyerbauer"), which was located next to the main building (today Biberngasse 29).

On the west side of the former Meierhof there are two coats of arms of Aegid Rem , who was Bishop of Chiemsee from 1520 to 1536, and the inscription: Aegidius D. g. Epis (copus) Chiemen (sis) aedes has ex fundamentis instauravit . In the early 19th century the Weiherhof was redesigned into a farmhouse with a living room and a stable. The stables were then equipped with a vault ( Bohemian cap , also called Platzlgewölbe ) and marble columns and marble feed troughs.

The building is now privately owned and is largely used as a residential building. The former large stable is currently used as a gallery (Weiherhof Gallery). The showroom can currently be viewed during opening hours.
